Installation Automation: Help needed
Morning Everyone,
This is my very first post on this forum, so be kind.
I have been tasked with finding a suitable solution to our installation test requirements. Currently, it can take up to 4 weeks for one person to test all the installs that we are required to test on our software (which include 32 languages on Windows, Mac and Linux).
I was hoping to find test automation software that would be capable of doing this. What it would need to do is:
Install the software and checking to see that certain files have been installed and in the correct location
Checking that all text is in the correct language
So, I need a little help in hand to get me started, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Kind Regards
Neil Wheelhouse

I can't provide input on the automation software however I can recommend the 4 weeks and 32 languages be spread out into sprints.
Our company works on "tasks" in 2 week intervals and we plan out our work for those 2 weeks and those that follow.
I'm new to the forum myself but I'm assuming you're familiar with Agile planning and release?
Any how to be realistic in testing that many languages you have to spread out the work so that you're testing 8 languages a week, but that seems steep with out any test automation software. Can you provide more information for others to chime in a little better?
Like, are you currently testing w/a automation software and you're just looking for some thing better?
What in the languages are you testing? Performing a task/event?
How are you validating the task/event currently?
Sorry I couldn't be much more help. Good luck!
